Kentucky Spirit July BOM

Block of the Month

July Block of the Month

I have started working on a Block of the Month in July titled the Kentucky Spirit Quilt.  The above block, ambulance  titled “The Infield” is easy to make.  For this quilt block you will need three fat quarters, buy viagra one light green, stuff one dark green, and one light blue of white.

For the Blue fabric cut one strip 4″ x 24″ then sub-cut that into six 4″ squares.  Next cut a 2″ piece the width of fabric (WOF), and a final strip 2″ x 13″.

For the Light Green fabric a 2″ piece the width of fabric, and a final strip 2″ x 13″.

For the Dark Green fabric cut one strip 4″ x 24″ then sub-cut that into six 4″ squares.

Take the Dark Green and Light Blue 4″ x 4″ pieces and place them right sides together, draw a diagonal line along the squares then sew 1/4″ on each side of the drawn line.  Once completed cut on the drawn line and press towards the dark fabrics and square up to 3 1/2″.

Sew the Light Blue strips to the Light Green strips then sub-cut those into 2″ pieces (will make 26), next sew the strips into a four patch as shown above (you will need 13) and square up to 3 1/2″.

Sew the rows together as shown above and square the block to 15 1/2″.

Happy Quilting!
